Identifying and Responding to Distressed Students

This workshop will assist participants in the importance of early identification and prompt response to students concerns by helping attendees to recognize the signs of distress, including depression, changes in academic performance, and disruptive behaviors. Participants will discuss ways to respond to students who exhibit concerning or disruptive behaviors in the classroom and elsewhere. Campus policies about disruptive behaviors and resources available to assist faculty and students also will be reviewed. *Required of all full-time faculty before the end of probationary period for Competency #4 Learning Environment/Classroom Management.
