11 Teaching Squares
A Teaching Squares Project builds a teaching community of four faculty through classroom observations and shared reflection. The structure emphasizes learning from other instructors, instead of evaluating or judging. Each of the four faculty will visit each other’s classrooms to learn how the physical space, the student’s behavior, and the faculty’s teaching all interact. The final goal is to share a reflection of what was gained from each of the classroom visits.
If you already have an established square, please have everyone sign up. Email Emily McWorthy at emily.mcworthy@kirkwood.edu with who is in your square. If you do not already belong to a square, we will put together groups as registrations come in. Groups must be registered by January 31. Emily will reach out to those not in already established groups. Meeting times and locations will be determined by your teaching square group.
