In the 2021-2022 academic year Kirkwood enrolled 12,414 full- and part-time learners – the majority attending more than 10 physical locations in Eastern Iowa!

Delivering instruction to that population through online, face-to-face (F2F), competency-based, and hybrid modes is heavily reliant on technology, and digital resources are now a common-place expectation of students in higher education.  According to Statista . . .

Talon is Kirkwood’s Learning Management System (LMS) and the way in which digital content is delivered to all our students – regardless of delivery format.

The contents of this book are arranged exactly as they appear in the “Course Administration” page in Talon!  This page is a permanent fixture on the navigation bar – so you always can access this location.

Key tools from that page are highlighted throughout this text and supplemental information will be placed in appropriate categories – even if they are not listed within Talon itself.   Will you be using all these tools?  Probably not, so this book highlights the essential elements most instructors use.
